November Recap: A Month of Celebrations, Challenges, and Reflection
November was an eventful month, filled with fun moments, unexpected challenges, and meaningful experiences. Here’s a look back at everything this month brought my way.
Starting the Month with a Bang: Halloween Party
What better way to kick off a new month than with a Halloween party? The energy that night was electric! Everyone showed off their creative costumes, and my friends and I spent the evening dancing, laughing, and playfully judging the outfits around us. It was such a joyful and carefree start to November, setting the tone for an exciting month ahead.

An Unexpected Challenge: Discovering a Severe Allergy
Just as I was enjoying the rhythm of life, I faced a scary experience,I discovered I’m allergic to mustard! While preparing some creative Mexican tacos, I had a severe allergic reaction. My lips and face swelled up, and I ended up spending the night in the emergency room. It was tough, but I’m grateful everything turned out fine in the end. This experience, although frightening, taught me something new about myself and reminded me of the importance of taking care of my health.

A New Family Member: Becoming an Aunt
One of the happiest moments this month was the arrival of my nephew! My family celebrated this beautiful milestone, and while I couldn’t be there with them, technology came to the rescue. I got to see the adorable little one  (Baby Sami ) on video calls. Becoming an aunt feels so special, and I can’t wait to meet him in person and shower him with love.

Grateful for My Supportive Community
Through the ups and downs, I felt so lucky to have wonderful people around me. My work colleagues and Fayez were there for me during my toughest moments, especially during my allergy scare. Their kindness and support made me feel at home in Milan, even though I’m far from my family. It’s moments like these that remind me how important community is.
The Magic of Christmas in Milan
As November progressed, Milan began transforming into a winter wonderland. The Christmas decorations and markets started popping up, filling the city with cozy, festive vibes. It made me want to bake holiday treats, sip hot chocolate, and soak in the season’s warmth. The city looks absolutely magical, and I can’t wait to fully enjoy the holiday spirit.
Ending the Month with Reflection: Shoah Memorial
On the last day of November, I attended a meaningful event at the Shoah Memorial of Milan in memory of Cristina Rossi, the first female president of AVIS. Standing at Platform 21, where countless lives were uprooted during the Holocaust, was a deeply humbling experience.
The event not only honored Cristina Rossi’s legacy but also served as a powerful reminder of the importance of compassion and community. It was a reflective and grounding way to end the month, making me think about the resilience of humanity and the lessons we must carry forward.

Looking Back and Moving Forward

November was a month of contrasts, joyful celebrations, personal challenges, and moments of deep reflection. As I step into December, I feel grateful for the lessons I’ve learned, the people who support me, and the opportunities to grow. Here’s to continuing to embrace life’s journey, one month at a time.
