Autumn has arrived in Milan. The cold is slowly setting in, the days are getting shorter, but we’re still making the most of it.
I was lucky to have some visitors, which gave me the chance to rediscover the city with “tourist eyes”. Between museums, walks, and little trips, I learned to see Milan differently… and it was nice to speak French for a change too.
Honestly, I have to admit : the city doesn’t really feel that different from home. In some ways, it reminds me of Paris, and sometimes I almost forget I’m abroad. But this month, I’ve traveled a lot, and that’s when I really felt like I was in Italy.
Around Milan (I’ll always have a soft spot for Lake Como) and on trips a little further away like Verona or Pesaro, I was able to breathe, change my environment, and reconnect with nature. I even did a day hike in the mountains, and it felt amazing to get out of the noise and pace of the city. Sometimes, getting some distance is exactly what you need.
During the week, I have a lot of free time. That’s nice… but it can also be a bit stressful. I need to have a goal, a project, something to keep me motivated.
So I take the time to work on my Italian (A1 level done #inthebag 😜) and start preparing for next year: schools, CV, portfolio… I need to create and lay the foundations for what’s next.
And then there’s everything else : hanging out with friends, doing sports, visiting places, chatting… all the little things that fill my days and keep me active and curious.
This month has been full of movement, discoveries, and time for myself. Not always easy, but definitely rewarding !
A presto 👋
