A Final Goodbye to an Unforgettable Journey

Ciao a tutti! I can’t believe I’m writing this my last blog. It feels surreal that this chapter is coming to an end. This journey has been one of the best experiences of my life, and now, it’s time to say goodbye. But before I go, let me take you through my final month.

January took off, and boom. My birthday. 21. Damn. It still doesn’t feel real. I feel like 21 is supposed to be a super mature age, but I still don’t know how taxes work, so… maybe not. But I have been through a lot, and honestly, I feel proud of how far I’ve come.

Now, I take my birthday parties very seriously. I love organizing them, and somehow, they always turn out to be unforgettable. This one was no exception, it felt like a big reunion. But as much fun as it was, it also meant something else, my last day at home. The next morning, I was back at the airport, heading to Milano for my final month. I won’t lie, leaving my family again felt heavy. After so many months apart, it was hard to say goodbye. But at the same time, I was excited to be back in Milano for one last time.

Getting back wasn’t exactly smooth. Of course my flights were delayed. At this point, I think the universe is trying to tell me, “Enough with the traveling.” Noted. But once I was back, reality hit, this was it. The final stretch. I spent the month trying to make the most of every moment. I visited museums, wandered through my favorite spots in the city, and had long dinners with friends. Every place I revisited, every meal I had, felt like a little goodbye.

Saying goodbye to Milano was bittersweet. I went back to the places that had become part of my routine Navigli, the center, even my favorite little café. It felt like I was mentally preparing myself, taking it all in one last time. But the hardest part? Saying goodbye to the people. I made friends here who have become like family, and leaving them feels unreal.

And now, here I am, writing my last blog. It feels weird. This project changed my life. It opened my eyes, gave me experiences I never imagined, and helped me grow in ways I never expected. I’m beyond grateful to Avis Lombardia for this opportunity not just for the work experience but for everything it gave me on a personal level.

I made incredible friends, and even though it’s sad to leave them, I know this isn’t the end. This chapter is closing, but a new one is about to begin. Heading back home means stepping into a new phase of my life. UNI is waiting for me (and I won’t lie, I’m a little scared), but I also know it’s time. I’ve lived abroad, I’ve grown, I’ve experienced so much… Now it’s time to go home.

Thank you for reading, for following along, for being part of this journey with me. It’s been an unforgettable experience, and now, it’s time for the next adventure.

Grazie di tutto, e arrivederci per ora.
